D-Limonene (Citrus Terpene)
Industrial solvent, degreaser, fragrance ingredient, flavoring agent, natural pesticide
D-Limonene is the most abundant naturally occurring terpene hydrocarbon, constituting up to 95% of the volatile oil in citrus peels. As a purified isolate obtained from the steam stripping of citrus juice and essential oil production byproducts, D-limonene is a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a characteristic fresh, clean, sweet orange-peel odor. It has become one of the most widely used bio-based solvents in industrial and household applications due to its excellent solvency for oils, greases, resins, and many organic compounds, combined with its favorable environmental profile (readily biodegradable, low aquatic toxicity). Fresure supplies D-limonene in technical grade (for industrial cleaning and solvent applications), food grade (for flavoring), and high-purity cosmetic grade.

D-Limonene (95% min), traces of myrcene, alpha-pinene, linalool
Bio-based solvent and degreaser in industrial parts washers, printing press cleaners, graffiti removers, adhesive removers, and heavy-duty household and institutional cleaning products. Excellent replacement for chlorinated solvents, mineral spirits, acetone, MEK, toluene, and xylene in many applications. Readily biodegradable and non-ozone-depleting.
GRAS flavoring substance (FEMA GRAS 2633). Used as a natural flavor component in citrus-flavored beverages, confectionery, baked goods, and chewing gum. Also used in the processing of citrus-based food ingredients and as an extraction solvent for natural products where regulatory status permits.
Top note component in citrus and fresh fragrance compositions for perfumes, colognes, soaps, detergents, and air fresheners. Used in personal care products for its degreasing properties (facial cleansers, hand cleaners). Penetration enhancer in transdermal formulations.
Active ingredient in natural insecticide and repellent formulations against fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, ants, and other arthropods. Used in pet shampoos, dips, and yard sprays. Also effective against plant pests including aphids, whiteflies, and spider mites. Approved for organic production under USDA NOP.

Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area away from heat and ignition sources. D-Limonene is flammable (flash point ~48 deg C) and forms explosive vapor-air mixtures. Use explosion-proof equipment. Avoid contact with strong oxidizers. Shelf life: 2 years under recommended conditions. May slowly oxidize to limonene oxide and carvone with prolonged air exposure.
Under recommended storage conditions — tightly sealed in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight — D-Limonene remains stable for 2 to 3 years. Monitor for any changes in aroma, color, or viscosity before use in production batches.
D-Limonene is from the . This method preserves the full spectrum of volatile aromatic compounds and bioactive constituents that define the oil''s therapeutic and sensory profile.
Every shipment includes a Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing the batch-specific chemical profile (GC/MS or GC-FID), physical parameters (specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation), and organoleptic assessment. Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS/SDS) is also provided. Additional documentation — including GC/MS chromatograms, pesticide residue analysis, heavy metal testing, and allergen statements — is available upon request.
