Essential Oil

Black Pepper Oil

Black Pepper

Improves muscle soreness, promotes blood circulation, detoxifying, diuretic

Product Description

Black pepper oil is steam-distilled from the dried, fully mature but unripe fruits of Piper nigrum L., the world's most traded spice. The oil is dominated by monoterpene hydrocarbons (α-pinene, β-pinene, sabinene, limonene) and sesquiterpenes (β-caryophyllene), which together account for 80–95% of the oil. Its distinctive peppery character comes from trace nitrogen- and sulfur-containing compounds, particularly piperine (present mainly in the oleoresin, not the essential oil — the essential oil captures the aroma, the oleoresin captures the pungent heat). Our black pepper oil is sourced from both France (for perfumery-grade material) and China (for competitively-priced industrial material).

Industry Applications

flavor

Flavor Industry

Used as a natural flavoring in savory foods, sauces, marinades, processed meats, and snack seasonings. The essential oil provides the fresh, top-note peppery character, while black pepper oleoresin provides the pungent heat and full-bodied flavor. Both are essential components of the flavorist's spice palette.

aromatherapy

Aromatherapy & Massage

Valued for its warming, circulatory-stimulating effect. Black pepper oil is used in massage blends for muscular aches, stiffness, poor circulation, and 'cold' conditions (in the traditional energetic sense). It provides a gentle rubefacient warming at 1–2% dilution in carrier oil. Combined with ginger and rosemary for sports massage and pre-exercise warming oils. Also used in diffusion for its stimulating, focusing effect — helpful during study or when mental clarity is needed.

cosmetics

Personal Care

Used in men's grooming products for its clean, spicy, masculine character. Incorporated into warming winter body care lines, foot creams for cold feet/poor circulation, and exfoliating body scrubs where its texture complements physical exfoliants. The oil's antimicrobial activity supports its use in natural deodorants and foot care formulations.

What documentation do you provide with bulk orders?

Every shipment includes a Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing the batch-specific chemical profile (GC/MS or GC-FID), physical parameters (specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation), and organoleptic assessment. Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS/SDS) is also provided. Additional documentation — including GC/MS chromatograms, pesticide residue analysis, heavy metal testing, and allergen statements — is available upon request.

What are the minimum order quantities (MOQ)?

Standard MOQ is 1 kg for most essential oils, with bulk pricing available at 5 kg, 25 kg, and 180 kg drum quantities. Contact our sales team for current pricing and availability for your required volume.
