Chuanxiong Oil

Ligusticum Wallichii (Chuanxiong)

Promotes blood circulation, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, cardiovascular support

Product Description

Chuanxiong oil is steam-distilled from the dried rhizomes of Ligusticum chuanxiong (syn. L. wallichii), a revered herb in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and an important member of the Apiaceae family. Native to Sichuan Province, this perennial plant produces aromatic rhizomes rich in phthalide compounds, particularly ligustilide, which gives the oil its characteristic celery-herbaceous aroma with warm spicy undertones. The rhizomes are harvested after 2-3 years of growth, carefully sun-dried, sliced, and distilled to maximize ligustilide content. Fresure's Chuanxiong oil is batch-tested for ligustilide percentage, making it an ideal ingredient for topical analgesic formulations, circulatory health products, and TCM-inspired aromatherapy blends.
