Chamomile oil comes in two principal types: German chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla syn. M. recutita) and Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile syn. Anthemis nobilis). Our product is German chamomile, steam-distilled from the flowering tops of Matricaria chamomilla, sourced from Xinjiang, China. The oil is defined by its high content of chamazulene (5–20%) and α-bisabolol (10–25%), which together confer its remarkable anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties. The deep blue color — unique among essential oils — is due to chamazulene, which is NOT present in the living plant but forms during the distillation process from the thermal decomposition of matricin, a sesquiterpene lactone that is colorless. The intensity of the blue color correlates with chamazulene content and is a quality indicator for German chamomile oil. The oil also contains bisabolol oxides A and B and the spiroether en-yn-dicycloether, which contribute to its anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic activity. German chamomile is one of the most extensively researched medicinal plants; the essential oil is monographed in the European Pharmacopoeia and the German Commission E.

One of the most valuable oils for sensitive, inflamed, and reactive skin. Chamazulene and α-bisabolol are among the most potent natural anti-inflammatory agents known in the essential oil world. German chamomile oil is used in formulations for eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dermatitis, sunburn, and general skin hypersensitivity. The oil is so deeply anti-inflammatory that it is often used neat (undiluted) on small, acute inflammatory spots. Incorporated into sensitive-skin product lines at 0.1–0.5%. The deep blue color is a desirable feature in natural 'clean beauty' products, serving as both an active ingredient and a natural colorant.
α-Bisabolol is widely used as an active pharmaceutical ingredient in topical anti-inflammatory, wound-healing, and antimicrobial preparations. Chamomile extracts and oil are used in hemorrhoid treatments, mouthwash for mucositis and gingivitis, and gastrointestinal antispasmodic preparations. The essential oil is listed in pharmacopoeias and supported by extensive preclinical and clinical research.
Associated with calm, patience, and emotional soothing. Chamomile oil is diffused or used in massage to alleviate stress, irritability, and insomnia — particularly when emotional tension manifests as physical symptoms (tension headaches, digestive upset, muscle tightness). Combined with lavender and frankincense in nighttime diffusion blends for deep, restorative sleep. Safe for use with children at low dilutions (0.5–1.0% in carrier oil for massage).

Store in tightly sealed containers in a cool, dark place. Shelf life: 3–4 years. Chamazulene is sensitive to oxidation; use containers with nitrogen-blanketed headspace for long-term storage. The blue color may slowly fade with exposure to light and air. Protect from light.
Under recommended storage conditions — tightly sealed in a cool, dry environment away from direct sunlight — Chamomile Oil remains stable for 2 to 3 years. Monitor for any changes in aroma, color, or viscosity before use in production batches.
Chamomile Oil is steam distillation from the flowers of a plant in the Asteraceae family. This method preserves the full spectrum of volatile aromatic compounds and bioactive constituents that define the oil''s therapeutic and sensory profile.
Every shipment includes a Certificate of Analysis (COA) detailing the batch-specific chemical profile (GC/MS or GC-FID), physical parameters (specific gravity, refractive index, optical rotation), and organoleptic assessment. Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS/SDS) is also provided. Additional documentation — including GC/MS chromatograms, pesticide residue analysis, heavy metal testing, and allergen statements — is available upon request.
