Daurian Rhododendron Oil

Daurian Rhododendron (Azalea)

Anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antimicrobial, respiratory support, insect repellent

Product Description

Daurian rhododendron oil is steam-distilled from the leaves and tender twigs of Rhododendron dauricum, a hardy evergreen shrub native to northeastern Asia. Known in Chinese as 'Manshanhong' (mountain-covering red), this rhododendron is celebrated for its profuse pink-purple blossoms that cover entire hillsides in early spring. The essential oil has been used in traditional Manchu and northeastern Chinese medicine for treating coughs, asthma, bronchitis, and arthritic pain. Our rhododendron oil is produced from sustainably wild-harvested plants in the Greater Khingan Mountains of Heilongjiang Province, where the cold climate concentrates the plant's aromatic compounds. The oil is characterized by a unique germacrone-dominant profile with woody, floral, and slightly medicinal notes. Fresure supplies this rare essential oil primarily for research, traditional medicine product development, and specialty fragrance applications.
